Dr. Dayna Fuchs is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 35 years of experience helping adults and older teens understand long-standing patterns in how they feel, cope, and connect. Experience
More than three decades of listening, learning, and evolving.
A Foundation in Clinical Care
Dr. Fuchs studied at Washington University in St. Louis before earning her master’s and doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She completed her internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the Dallas VA Medical Center, where she later served as Chief of the Alcohol Dependence Treatment Program.
Her experience at the VA helped shape an integrated understanding of trauma, psychological distress, physical health, and substance use that she continues to bring to her work in private practice.
A Career Shaped by Curiosity
Early in her career, Dr. Fuchs pursued specialized training in trauma and dissociative disorders, when these conditions were less widely understood and EMDR was still in its infancy.
After more than 35 years in practice, she remains a student of this work, continually pursuing advanced training and new research on the connections between the brain, body, and emotional experience. This continued curiosity helps deepen her understanding and informs how she works with each client.

Professional Philosophy
Compassionate care, grounded in science.
Dr. Fuchs believes effective therapy begins with understanding the whole person — not reducing someone to a diagnosis or collection of symptoms. Brain science, developmental history, life experiences, relationships, physical health, and environment can all help explain not only what someone is struggling with, but why.
Her work is collaborative and individualized, combining careful assessment with clear treatment goals developed alongside each client. Decades of clinical experience and continued study of psychological science inform an approach designed to create meaningful, sustainable change.
