Getting Started • What to Expect • Next Steps

Your First Step

Starting therapy shouldn’t feel like another unknown.

Beginning therapy can bring questions about what to expect, how the process works, and whether a therapist will be the right fit. Here’s what you can expect as you get started with Dr. Fuchs.

What to expect

A thoughtful beginning, one step at a time.

Start with a Conversation

Begin with a brief consultation to talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re looking for, and whether working together feels like the right fit.

Your First Appointment

The initial 90-minute appointment provides time to discuss your history, current concerns, goals, and questions in greater depth.

Develop a Plan Together

The first few visits are an opportunity to continue the assessment process, establish trust, and develop treatment goals collaboratively.

A Personalized Process

There isn’t one right way to do therapy.

Some people benefit from clearly defined goals, practical exercises, reading, or work between sessions. Others need more space for reflection, insight, and understanding patterns as they emerge.

Treatment with Dr. Fuchs is shaped around the individual, with the structure, pace, and therapeutic approaches adjusted according to your needs and goals.
