What to Know
A few answers before you begin.
It’s natural to have questions before starting therapy. Here you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions about appointments, treatment, payment, confidentiality, and getting started.
Your first appointment provides additional time to discuss what brings you to therapy, your history, current concerns, goals, and any questions you may have. It is also an opportunity for you and Dr. Fuchs to begin determining whether working together feels like the right fit.
Initial appointments are approximately 90 minutes. This allows more time for a thorough conversation about your history, concerns, and goals.
Treatment is developed collaboratively. The first few visits allow Dr. Fuchs to better understand what you’re experiencing while you work together to establish goals and determine which therapeutic approaches may be most helpful.
Secure telehealth appointments may be available when appropriate. Contact the office to discuss whether telehealth is an option for your circumstances.
Yes. When helpful and with the appropriate authorization, Dr. Fuchs can coordinate with physicians, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals involved in your care.
Information shared in therapy is generally confidential, with certain legal and ethical exceptions. Dr. Fuchs will review confidentiality and its limits with you as part of the informed-consent process.
Please contact the office as soon as possible if you need to change an appointment. Current cancellation policies will be provided as part of your new-client paperwork.
The forms needed for your first appointment are available on the Client Forms page. If you’re unsure which forms apply to you, contact the office for assistance.
